niku You just can't help but feel anything but emotionally and physically better after listening to Phantoms. If "This Can't Be Everything" is any sign of the original stuff coming from these guys on this upcoming sophomore effort, I think we're all in for a wild and enjoyable ride. Genuinely great human beings with influences from the right places, these boys get together and make magic. Favorite track: This Can’t Be Everything.

about

Indie-dance duo Phantoms officially announce their sophomore album This Can’t Be Everything slated for release this Summer, August 12th via Foreign Family Collective. The announcement comes after a string of electric releases including, “Lay It All on Me” featuring UK based singer-songwriter Jem Cooke and “Firepit” with electronic producer/composer, Big Wild. The singles have received incredible support from playlisting across the globe as well as continued radio support worldwide including heavy rotation on SiriusXM (Diplo’s Revolution & BPM) + KCRW, BBC Radio 1, Kiss FM, triple j, iHeartRadio and more.

Phantoms have come into their own and taken a new approach to their music following monumental personal and professional life changes and through those experiences have created some of their most dynamic and transcendent music to date. The two were officially signed to Foreign Family Collective earlier this year, (founded by electronic giant ODESZA in 2015) and since have had the freedom to explore new and exciting creative avenues with their music.

Words from Phantoms: "This Can’t Be Everything was actually one of the first songs we wrote when we started working on our album. It’s a special one because once we finished it, it felt like we suddenly had a clear direction for the rest of the album. It’s a really unconventional song for us. For one, it’s not really a “club” record. The BPM is pretty fast and it’s also on the longer side. But that’s what we loved about it. For the first time in a long time, it felt like we were taking some risks and simply making music we wanted to make without any hindrances. The chorus of this song became a motif for the rest of the album, and we knew that “This Can’t Be Everything” had to be the album title as well. It’s all about knowing that there is more out there, whatever that may mean to you."

With previous support from NPR, Billboard, Stereogum, LA Weekly, Earmilk + more and over 125 million streams across platforms, the duo has solidified themselves as one of the most promising acts entering 2022, with lots more on the horizon.
